Missing....

http://www.blake0725.blogspot.com/2011/07/will-be-missed.html

I can't believe it's been 12 months since we lost this very sweet dog.  Here are 12 things I don't want to forget about him:
1) He was always the neighborhood meet and greet...he loved everyone, especially babies!
2) When you would rub his belly and then stop, he would paw you for "More"
3) He loved to cuddle...he would sometimes put his chin on my neck so he could hear my heartbeat...that was a place of comfort
4) When he barked he would do so in 3 syllables.....it often sounded like "I love you" and "Arkansas"
5) When you said "Treat" he would tilt his head left then right...and you could even spell t-r-e-a-t and he would do the same thing with every letter
6) When we lived in an apartment the carpet and baseboards were beige and we would give Boomer  milkbone treats....he would stockpile those treats and lay them next to the baseboards in the closet...he thought no one could see it because all 3 were beige...he would get really annoyed when we would go get one of his "stashed" treats and give it to him as a "new" treat
7) You could always tell when he was ready to potty....he would take off running and then do about 6 circles and then squat.
8) When singing "Happy Birthday" Boomer would sing too...we learned this by accident, at a party!
9) Every time we moved to a new place, we would take Boomer with us to the empty house and he would take off and run, run, run....even when he was old and lazy. He loved a great empty space.
10) Boomer had traveled all over the United States....he was born in Arlee Montana....visited Arkansas several times by plane and then moved to Chattanooga, TN and then to Little Rock, AR. He was very good in the car he slept most of the way.  He would take up most of the back seat laying on his back and putting his paws in the air.....
11) That brings us to food!  Boomer loved food...So on many of our car trips back to Chattanooga, Mom would pack some sandwiches to take with us.... So here we are driving, starting to get hungry...Boomer's asleep in the back seat---legs up in the air and snoring....So we decide to try to reach in the plastic bag for a sandwich....I'm reaching very slowly and being very quiet.....in 2 seconds flat Boomer is pushing himself through the seat separator of the car sniffing like crazy....he was very spoiled!
12) And even though I was scared to get another dog for fear that 11 year old Boomer would give up and die.  We did, Boomer and Oliver got along just fine.  Even in Boomer's last days they played together.
